Love For Art

Savannah Sam’s journey as an artist began in his youth, inspired by one of his uncle’s passion for photography and further nurtured by formal art education. Despite societal expectations steering him towards a career in aerospace engineering, his passion for art persisted. About eight years ago, he recommitted and redirected his energy to this passion, leading to the creation of Savannah Sam Photography. Through his work, Sam hopes to share an “island-like state-of-mind,” transporting viewers to the tranquil beaches and historic sites of their dreams.

Sam’s approach to photography is both technical and creative. He captures stunning shots and then carefully processes them to convey the desired mood and atmosphere. Constantly experimenting with digital and light applications, he has developed a signature style that blends “technical creativity” with “coastal calm”.

Local Beauty and Culture

The collaboration between Legacy RV Resort and Savannah Sam Photography is a testament to our shared dedication to preserving and promoting the beauty and culture of coastal Georgia. Sam’s work embraces coastal charm and showcases the rich artistic opportunities provided by the region’s diverse landscapes, from the Ace Basin and Lowcountry to the various bluffs, hammocks, and fish camps dotting the coastline.

Sam’s exceptional talent has not gone unnoticed. His work has been featured in local publications, galleries, and prestigious locations such as the Horton Gallery, the Atrium Gallery of a Merrill Lynch Building, and the Old Jail Art Center in Darien. Notably, his image “Wild Horse on Cumberland Island” was selected as Georgia’s photographic entry for the “Most Beautiful Spot in Every U.S. State” by PUREWOW.com. His haunting image of the Dungeness Ruins on Cumberland Island, depicting the one time home of the Carnegie Family, was also featured on OnlyInYourState.com.

Legacy of Excellence

In recent years, Savannah Sam’s contributions to the art world have been recognized at the state level. His works “Darien Reflections” and “Footprints of Sapelo Island” were displayed in the executive offices at the State Capitol as part of the “Art of Georgia” exhibit. In 2020, his pieces were also displayed at the prestigious Jekyll Island Club’s Eighty Ocean Complex. Most recently, in 2023, Sam’s works “The Garden Gate” and “Winter Skies Over SSI” were again featured at the State Capitol.
